Door Core Chipboard / Particle Board (PB)

Overview

Doorcore Particleboard, also known as chipboard.

Composition:

Doorcore particleboard is made from ground wood chips bonded together with adhesive. It provides a cost-effective alternative to solid wood or plywood.

Weight and Durability:

Although it increases the weight of doors, particleboard enhances their durability.

Fire Ratings:

Depending on the type, particleboard cores can be specified with fire ratings ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes.

Main Use:

Washroom Wood Doors:

Particleboard cores are commonly used for washroom wood doors. Their lower density makes them suitable for this application.

Interior Applications:

They work well for interior doors in offices, hotels, and other commercial spaces.

Fire-Rated Doors:

Extra heavy-duty (EHD) particleboard cores can provide fire ratings, making them suitable for fire-rated doors.
