HMR Chipboard / Particle Board ( PB )

Overview

HMR (High Moisture Resistant) chipboard, also known as particle board, is a versatile engineered wood product.

Composition:

HMR chipboard consists of wood particles bonded together with resins. It is easily identifiable by the green dye incorporated into the core of the board.

Moisture Resistance:

Unlike standard particle board, HMR chipboard is designed to withstand humid conditions, making it suitable for areas prone to moisture exposure.

Strength and Stability:

Despite being lighter than medium-density fiberboard (MDF), HMR chipboard retains considerable strength and stability.

Main Use:

Interior Furniture:

HMR chipboard is commonly used for kitchen cupboards, bathroom vanities, laundry cupboards, and shelving.

Moisture-Prone Areas:

It’s ideal for situations where a moisture-resistant particle board is required, such as in humid environments.

Working Properties

Machinability:

HMR chipboard can be cleanly machined due to its tight compaction and fine surface finish.

Cost-Effectiveness:

It provides cost-effective building solutions while maintaining environmental sustainability.

Renewable Resource:

The reconstituted wood fibers used in HMR chipboard come from Australian pine plantations, ensuring a sustainable and renewable resource.
